Boyne Bakehouse

The brief

Boyne Bakehouse is a fictional neighbourhood bakery, imagined for a Drogheda street corner. The brief: get a bookable, professional page live before opening day, and a mark that looks like it belongs on a bag of sourdough, not a template icon. No client exists — this is a concept built to show how we’d approach that brief.

Approach

A one-page site built entirely around the opening date: what’s baking, when the doors open, and a click-to-call for pre-orders. The identity came first, so the page had something worth designing around — a warm, hand-set feel without leaning on bakery clichés (no wheat sheaves, no gingham).

Design system

Palette

Warm flour-white and a deep terracotta crust tone, with a single wheat-gold accent used sparingly — three colours, not a rainbow.

Type

Aa

A confident serif for the wordmark, paired with a plain grotesk for the menu and opening times, so pricing and hours stay easy to scan.

Screens

Homepage — opening hours and today’s bakes
Pre-order — a simple form, no account required
